Southern Vietnam born and Los Angeles raised Thai Nguyen is a visionary, an innovator, and a borne designer – he’s re-defining fashion as a medium that is accessible to all women, and believes all women should have the opportunity to wear high design, at an accessible price-point.
For his formative years, growing up in Southern Vietnam, Thai had a love of sewing and fashion, and never imagined doing anything else. Despite his parents worries about the demands of the fashion world, they were supportive of his vision. They migrated to the U.S. when he was a young teen, and he has utilized every opportunity to pursue his dreams, since.
In 2002 he joined BCBG Max Azria as an associate designer straight out of graduating from FIDM. After a few years of fine tuning and learning all he could, from an established design house, he yearned for creative freedom and left to start his own line. His label quickly evolved into the brand’s fusion of modern styling with a keen nod to exquisite detailing and femininity, for which he is still coveted today.
After launching the high end Atelier, his designs have been featured in publications like Vanity Fair, and has graced the red carpets of the Met Gala, the Oscars, the Grammy’s and countless premiers.
Having dressed many Hollywood notables such as Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, and Kristen Bell, Thai has become a most respected designer, with the most distinctive and unique RUNWAY READY clothing. The collection is a goose-bump-inducing melange of classically feminine 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s silhouettes, with a decidedly daring deconstructed modern edge.
In 2017, Thai longed to offer his unique aesthetic to a broader range of women, and launched his contemporary ready to wear collection to the design world, T’AIME.
The “feminine with an edge” aesthetic is characterized by its signature silhouettes, in house design prints, and well priced fabrications. T’aims, infuses classic elegance, with a shot of modern energy, impeccable needlecraft and envelope-pushing stylistic pop. Thai Nguyen’s masterful technical acumen, and his subtle wink of creative defiance, has gotten the T’Aime collection into stores almost immediately.
Like the women who wear his clothing, Thai Nguyen designs for T’Aime refuse to be confined by any industry standard, but instead offers women clothing that they truly want to wear, will be remembered for and can afford…T’AIME is the new FACE OF FASHION.
